What is a general handout resume and when should I use one?

A general handout is a polished, sendable resume built for networking and referrals when you do not have a specific job posting.

A general handout resume is designed for situations where you need something professional and ready to share, but you do not have a specific job description to target.

Common uses include: giving a copy to a mentor or sponsor, sharing with a recruiter who asked for your resume speculatively, bringing to a Salesforce community event, or passing along during a referral conversation.

When you build a general handout, TrailScout asks you to choose a focus area such as Salesforce Admin, Developer, Business Analyst, or Consultant. This helps the AI choose the most relevant evidence without requiring a full job posting.

A general handout is not the same as your master resume. It is shorter, curated, and formatted to be sent. The master resume is your working source of truth.
